Vacilloscopes are kinetic, photo based sculptures made from prefabricated photo display devices that are filled with images from "Vacillations" and related photographic pieces originally from proofed, uncut 35 mm negative strips.  The Vacilloscopes originally showed at Blum & Poe in my first solo show there, "Spatial Relationships", in 1997.  Four alphabet recitations, the Rudimentary Particles, showed at UKS in Oslo, Norway in 1998.  "Hiragana" was donated to the permanent collection at MOCA in 2012.

"Vacillation #4:  Man Facing North, Man Facing South, Chromogenic Contact Print, 1992.The Vacilloscopes would not have been possible without the Vacillations, photographs of repetitious actions with all the action removed.
